Providing a platform for orphans and underprivileged children through a home, education, and basic needs.
"10 Years of hope and education for unprivileged children"
Light of African Child Uganda is a fully registered non-government organization located in Kawempe, Migalu Zone, a suburb of Kampala, Uganda. The organization was founded in 2016 by Male Hamid, who was then a student at Kampala International University pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication.
The idea of starting the organization came from a desire to support orphans and other underprivileged children who lack access to basic needs, including education, clothing, and a safe environment in which to grow. What began as a small community effort has grown into an initiative that works with different communities to bring hope and support to vulnerable children.
Light of African Child Uganda is guided by strong values of equity, transparency, accountability, and integrity in all our work.
To see a country where orphans and underprivileged children have hope, support, and the opportunity to build a better future.
To support orphans and underprivileged children in Uganda by providing a caring environment and access to basic needs, including shelter, education, and essential services.
Equity, Transparency, Accountability, Integrity, and Professionalism.
We support underprivileged children by providing educational materials, scholarships, and community learning opportunities. Our goal is to help children stay in school and build a better future through education.
Many children have talents that often go unnoticed due to a lack of opportunities. We help nurture these talents by creating platforms where children can express their creativity and develop their skills.
With support from well-wishers and community members, we provide clothing and other necessities to families and children in need.
